| Our heat-press fabrication process allows
us to mass produce our aspheric lenses at a low cost. |
In
preference to the conventional but more difficult grind/polish method, Isuzu Glass
uses a manufacturing process by which softened glass is pressed into a die. The
advantages of the pressing method, compared to other mechanical processes, include
the ability to make many lenses without losing quality, greater design flexibility,
and lower cost. Isuzu Glass can also produce aspehric lenses with larger diameters.
We use customer specifications (drawings and mathematical curvature formulas)
to create molds and then manufacture lenses.

| High Precision Aspheric Lens (Large Size)
|
High-performance and high-functioning electronic
and optical devices are being developed all the time. As a result, the optical
components market demands various manufacturing techniques and advanced glass-molding
methods. Therefore, the demand for such technology is expected to increase.
To satisfy such needs we succeeded in manufacturing a 50 mm aspheric lens with
a P-V value of 30 microns. Our next target is 10 microns. |

| Heat-pressed lenses creates endless possibilities.
|
Using
the heat-pressing method, we can achieve a surface accuracy and brightness similar
to that of conventional ground/polished lenses. This method is best suited for
the production of flanged lenses that are difficult to manufacture using conventional
polishing methods.
We use customer specifications (drawings and mathematical curvature formulas)
to create molds and then manufacture lenses. Depending on the application, we
can offer a surface finish for scattering light, yellow coloring or tempering.
We can also process the other side of the heat-pressed surface for a plano or
radius finish.

| Applications |
Used to correct aberrations often caused by
spherical lenses. Effectively works to align light beams from lamps with parallel
beams. Used in various projectors, automobile headlamps, fog lamps, and other
light sources. |
| Lens or filter for light sources |
Aspheric
condenser lenses are used with light sources in microscopes and slide projectors.
Heat absorbing filters are used for various lighting equipment to protect objects
against heat rays from powerful light sources.
