laser protective goggles

The IR absorbing filter "ISK Series" and blue filter "IEC Series" are used as "eye safety goggle" by people in many fields involved with lasers. The ISK Series in particular excels at blocking YAG lasers, and due to its high OD value (optical density), it is widely used overseas (Europe, America) as the "lenses" of laser protective goggles.

What is OD value (optical density)?

OD value is an abbreviation for Optical Density. Light transmission is generally expressed as transmittance (%), but as the transmittance decreases and the value approaches 0, the number of decimal points increases. For this reason, the OD value is an easy-to-understand representation using logarithms.

The higher the OD value, the lower the transmittance, means the protective function (safety) is higher.
